Describe your workshop

What you make, where you work and how clients should reach you. Cactal writes the pages, sets up your commission request form and publishes the site.

How it works

  1. 1 Pick a design

Browse by the kind of work you do and open any design to see it full size.

  2. 2 Add your workshop's details

What you make, your best projects, where you work and how clients should reach you. Cactal writes every page and builds the site from your design.

  3. 3 Publish

Ask for changes in plain words until it's right, then publish free on a Cactal domain, or on your own domain with Pro.

What a carpentry or woodworking website needs

Your best work, photographed well

Clients buy with their eyes. Show finished pieces in good light, with close-ups of the joinery and grain, and give each project a few lines on the wood, the size and the room it was made for.

How a commission works

Walk through the steps from first conversation to delivery: sketches, choosing the wood, deposit, build time and installation. Knowing the process makes a custom piece feel less risky.

Lead times and price ranges

Custom work raises two questions first: how long, and roughly how much. A typical lead time and starting prices for common pieces help the right clients get in touch.

Your shop and your hands

Photos of your workshop, your tools and the people who build the work show that each piece is made by hand. A short story about how you started makes it personal.

A path for the trade

Architects, designers and contractors want drawings, finishes and how you fit into a build schedule. Homeowners want ideas and reassurance. Give each their own page and a way to reach you.

A request form that asks the right questions

Ask for the piece or room, rough sizes, the wood or finish they like, timing and budget, and say which area you deliver to. Your first reply can then be useful.

Questions

Are these carpentry and woodworking website templates free?

Every design here is free to start from. You can sign up, build and publish on a Cactal domain without a card and with no time limit. Putting your site on a domain you own is $25 a month on Pro, or $240 a year.

Do I need to know how to code or design?

No. Describe your workshop in plain words and Cactal builds, edits and publishes the site. When you want a change, ask for it the same way.

How much does a woodworking website cost?

A custom build from a web designer often runs into the thousands of dollars and takes weeks. A builder template costs less, but you still write and fill in every page. With Cactal it's free to build and publish on a Cactal address, and your own domain is $25 a month on Pro, or $240 a year, with no setup fee.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes. Every site starts on a free Cactal address. Connect a domain you own on Pro for $25 a month, or $240 a year, and each additional website on its own domain is $20 a month.

Who owns the website?

You do. Every Cactal site is real React source code, so you can take it and run it anywhere. There is no export to buy.

Are these real woodworking businesses?

No. Each design is an illustration made by Cactal, and the business names, people, numbers and photos in it are fictional. Your site is built around your own work.

Can I sell my furniture on my site?

Cactal doesn't run a shopping cart or take payments. Your site can show each piece with photos, sizes and prices, take inquiries through a form, and link to the store or checkout tool you already use.

Can I add new pieces to my portfolio myself?

Yes. Ask for a portfolio page with a short note on each piece, then add new work by asking Cactal or as a post in the built-in CMS.
