Describe your church

Who you are, when and where you meet and how newcomers should reach you. Cactal writes the pages, sets up your plan-your-visit form and publishes the site.

How it works

  1. 1Pick a design

Browse by church style and open any design to see it full size.

  2. 2Add your church's details

Your service times, address, ministries, staff and how newcomers should reach you. Cactal writes every page and builds the site from your design.

  3. 3Publish

Ask for changes in plain words until it's right, then publish free on a Cactal domain, or on your own domain with Pro.

What a church website needs

Service times and address up front

Most first-time visitors come looking for when and where. Put both on the first screen, with parking and a map link close by.

A page for first-time guests

What a Sunday is like, what to wear, how long it lasts and what happens with the kids. Answering those questions makes the first visit far less daunting.

Sermons and livestream in one place

Embed your livestream and recent messages from the video service you already use. Members who missed a week and newcomers checking you out will look there first.

Online giving that's easy to find

Keep a give button in the menu, linked to or embedded from the giving service your church already uses. Nobody should have to search for it.

Ministries for every age

Short pages for kids, students, groups and serving help people see where they'd fit. Real photos help, but ask families before posting pictures of children.

Easy to read on a phone

Many people check service times on a phone, often on Sunday morning. Large text, a tap-to-call number and directions that open in a map app matter more than effects.

Questions

Are these church website templates free?

Every design here is free to start from. You can sign up, build and publish on a Cactal domain without a card and with no time limit. Putting your site on a domain you own is $25 a month on Pro.

Do I need to know how to code or design?

No. Describe your church in plain words and Cactal builds, edits and publishes the site. When you want a change, ask for it the same way.

How much does a church website cost?

A custom build from a church web agency often runs into the thousands of dollars and takes weeks. A builder template costs less, but you still write and fill in every page. With Cactal it's free to build and publish on a Cactal address, and your own domain is $25 a month on Pro, with no setup fee.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes. Every site starts on a free Cactal address. Connect a domain you own on Pro for $25 a month, and each additional website on its own domain is $20 a month.

Who owns the website?

You do. Every Cactal site is real React source code, so you can take it and run it anywhere. There is no export to buy.

Are these real churches?

No. Each design is an illustration made by Cactal, and the church names, people, numbers and photos in it are fictional. Your site is built around your own church.

Can members give online through the site?

Cactal doesn't process gifts. Your site links to or embeds the giving service your church already uses, so recurring gifts and giving statements stay where they are today.

Can we post sermons and a livestream?

Yes. Your site can embed your livestream and sermon videos from the service you already use, and adding each week's message is one request or a quick post in the built-in CMS.
