How it works

Browse by trade and open any design to see it full size.

Your services, service area, license details and how customers should reach you. Cactal writes every page and builds the site from your design.

Ask for changes in plain words until it's right, then publish free on a Cactal domain, or on your own domain with Pro.

What a contractor website needs

Your trade and your towns, up front

Homeowners decide in seconds whether you do their kind of job where they live. Put the service and the area in the headline, and list every town you cover.

Phone and estimate on every screen

Many calls come from a phone in a hurry, during a leak or a cold night. Keep tap-to-call and a short estimate request in the header and the first screen.

A page for each service

Roof repair, water heaters, kitchen remodels: give each its own page with what's included, how pricing works and how long it takes. These are the pages people find in search.

Photos of your own work

Before and after shots of real jobs and your real crew beat stock photos. A small gallery for each kind of project shows the quality people are paying for.

License, insurance and warranty

Many states require your license number on your website and ads. Say you're insured and spell out what your warranty covers, and check your state's and trade's rules.

Proof from nearby customers

Recent reviews and project stories from nearby neighborhoods tell a homeowner you've done this before. Keep them current and share customer names only with permission.

Questions

Are these contractor website templates free?

Every design here is free to start from. You can sign up, build and publish on a Cactal domain without a card and with no time limit. Putting your site on a domain you own is $25 a month on Pro.

Do I need to know how to code or design?

No. Describe your business in plain words and Cactal builds, edits and publishes the site. When you want a change, ask for it the same way.

How much does a contractor website cost?

A custom build from a contractor marketing agency often runs into the thousands of dollars and takes weeks. A builder template costs less, but you still write and fill in every page. With Cactal it's free to build and publish on a Cactal address, and your own domain is $25 a month on Pro, with no setup fee.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes. Every site starts on a free Cactal address. Connect a domain you own on Pro for $25 a month, and each additional website on its own domain is $20 a month.

Who owns the website?

You do. Every Cactal site is real React source code, so you can take it and run it anywhere. There is no export to buy.

Are these real contractors?

No. Each design is an illustration made by Cactal, and the company names, people, numbers and photos in it are fictional. Your site is built around your own business.

Can customers book a service call on my site?

Cactal sets up a request form for estimates and service calls, with spam filtering and an email to you for each one. If you use a scheduling tool, your site can link to it or embed it; Cactal doesn't run its own booking calendar.

Can I have a page for each town I serve?

Yes. Ask for a page per city or neighborhood and Cactal writes them, along with a page for each service. Keep each one specific to that place so it helps the reader.
